Partnerships & Initiatives

WCMP developes relationships that provide unique expertise and exceptional service to manufacturers.

The Wisconsin Center for Manufacturing and Productivity (WCMP) engages with partnerships and initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels. We continually provide the best available support and resources to help manufacturers reach their goals.

The WCMP continues to adapt to changing conditions by identifying and evaluating our optimal mix of partners and the roles they play: strategic, operational and/or financial. Successful partnerships align with the WCMP in resource expectations, desired outcomes and key success metrics.

We manufacture strong relationships so you can manufacture strong products and services.

INITIATIVES

Partnerships put the WCMP in position to support and coordinate major initiatives within and between the regions. Examples of these initiatives are:

Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership (IMCP): The WCMP is a founding member of the Manufacturing Council, created when the Milwaukee 7 region won IMCP designation. The WCMP leverages its connections and abilities with SMEs to maximize the impact of the designation within the region. In addition, the WCMP used lessons learned from this involvement to assist MadREP with a successful IMCP application.

Milwaukee E3: The City of Milwaukee funded and supported sustainability projects for SMEs within the city. These projects were modeled after the Profitable Sustainability Initiative, created by the WCMP and the WEDC, and then modified for Milwaukee’s specific needs.

Global Cities Initiative: The WCMP is directly involved in the Global Cities Initiative (GCI), a joint project of The Brookings Institution and JPMorgan Chase. The Milwaukee Region was selected for the GCI in 2013 and the WCMP is leading the effort in the Milwaukee 7 (M7) Region to develop a customized global engagement strategy to strengthen global connections and competitiveness.
